
Annual WAEYC Conference
Last Saturday, in the wind and rain, a few of us from Good Shepherd ventured out to attend the Annual WAEYC Conference. Keynote speaker, Eric Litwin, author of the first four Pete the Cat books, soon warmed us up and had us laughing. His humor, music, and songs had us on our feet as he subtly reminded us that early literacy is best taught using all of our senses, by tapping into our multiple intelligences, and by having fun. Good Shepherd Early Childhood Center is excited to have their next open house on Saturday, November 5th from 10 am to 12 noon! Please come visit our beautiful classrooms housed in the extensive facilities of the Irvington Presbyterian Church. Our non-profit, non-sectarian program is based on the Common Core Foundational curriculum of New York State and promotes learning through play.
