Annual WAEYC Conference

Last Saturday, in the wind and rain, a few of us from Good Shepherd ventured out to attend the Annual WAEYC Conference. Keynote speaker, Eric Litwin, author of the first four Pete the Cat books, soon warmed us up and had us laughing. His humor, music, and songs had us on our feet as he subtly reminded us that early literacy is best taught using all of our senses, by tapping into our multiple intelligences, and by having fun. The morning concluded with individual workshops and networking with fellow early childhood educators. We all left feeling rejuvenated and with a renewed sense of our individual and collective impact upon the lives of young children and their families.
