Ice Cream Social
When the warm weather arrives and the end of the school year approaches, Good Shepherd families gather for an Ice Cream Social. Sharing a treat of ice cream is a delicious way to welcome the approaching summer. Singing, making music and having a joyful parade on the grass together is a special way for young children and their families to celebrate friendships and community fostered at our preschool.
In early February, a committee of parent volunteers working together plan and create our Winter Carnival. The generosity of the entire community supports this fund-raising event, which contributes to tuition assistance and enhancing school materials. Past and current students and their families enjoy a Saturday of preschool level activities along with opportunities to win some wonderful prizes through raffles and a silent auction.
In the fall the teachers host our Harvest Festival. With a natural backdrop of autumn colors, parents and caregivers join the children for some seasonal crafts and outdoor play activities on the playground and open grass area adjacent to the classrooms. Everyone enjoys this opportunity to connect as a community at the start of the school year.
